2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid
We’ve told you about the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid awaiting an on-sale date later this year. Now, Ford’s confirming that its ritzy cousin to the Ford Fusion Hybrid will hit the same 41-mpg city fuel economy rating.
The MKZ Hybrid’s EPA fuel economy will be 41/36 mpg when it goes on sale later this year, which makes it the most gas-miserly luxury sedan on sale in America. Ford says the MKZ Hybrid will top the Lexus HS 250h by a good 6 mpg.
Ford says the MKZ Hybrid will also seat an extra passenger; the Lexus is rated as a four-passenger vehicle.
Like the Fusion Hybrid, the MKZ Hybrid combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine running a lean combustion cycle, and teams it to electric batteries and motors, for a power equivalence of 191 horsepower. The MKZ Hybrid can run on battery alone up to 47 mph, and the gauges train drivers to see when they’re sipping fuel–and when they’re not.
Other standard features on the MKZ Hybrid will include leather seats; power front seats with heating and ventilation; wood trim; parking sensors; MyKey, which allows drivers to set speed limits and warnings; and memory functions for the seating, along with Ford’s unique keyless entry system.
