The 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will start at $29,270, and will be offered in only two of the four trim levels available for its gasoline counterpart.
That base price–which includes a $900 destination charge–buys a RAV4 Hybrid XLE, one step up from the base LE trim level offered on gasoline models.
Toyota also skipped the SE trim level for the hybrid, but will offer it in top Limited spec starting at $34,510.

The EPA rates the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid at 33 mpg combined (34 mpg city, 31 mpg highway), versus 26 mpg combined for the gasoline-only version with front-wheel drive, or 25 mpg for all-wheel drive.

In addition to the 4.2-inch TFT display wedged into the gauge cluster, there is also a 7.0-inch central touchscreen display available as part of an optional infotainment system.

Its only potential direct competition is a rumored Nissan Rogue mild hybrid, which isn’t expected to arrive until the 2017 model year.
The hybrid Rogue is expected to use the same powertrain as the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, sold for only one year before being discontinued.
