So far, the second-generation Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid has only been offered in a handful of electric-car-friendly states.
General Motors previously said that nationwide availability would come after the launch of a 2017 model this spring.
But while spring is still around the corner, the 2017 Chevrolet Volt is now starting to arrive, apparently.

Certain dealers are already listing the 2017 Volt, and GM recently announced its first incentives for the new model year.
GM is currently offering $1,000 cash back on the 2017 Volt, according to CarsDirect.
However, that offer only applies in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

For leasing, a $2,250 incentive is also available in those states, and a $2,300 discount is also available nationally.
Where applicable, those two incentives can be combined for up to $4,550 in potential discounts.
Shoppers coming from an existing GM lease or from a competitor may also be eligible for an additional $500.

These incentives went into effect yesterday and are set to expire February 29, but are expected to be renewed for the coming month.
For 2017, Chevy increased the Volt’s base price by $50, and raised the mandatory destination fee for $50 as well.
That means–including destination–a base 2017 Volt LT starts at $34,095, while the higher-level Premier starts at $38,445. Neither price includes taxes or any Federal, state, or local incentives that might be applied to a purchase.

The most significant change is the availability of adaptive cruise control as an option on the Premier model.
It’s part of a package that also includes blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, forward-collision warning, lane-keep assist, low-speed automatic braking, and intelligent high beams–all of which adds $2,185 to the Volt’s sticker price.
The 2017 Volt is also expected to be compliant with stricter Tier 3 emissions standards.
An online configurator for the car is already live, and lists cars in transit to certain dealers in different parts of the country.
