Concept cars come in all forms, shapes, and sizes. There are concepts destined for production some day and there are concepts that are just good lookers and nothing more. That is were the newest concept from Tesla likely fits in. The concept, called the EYE, carries a Tesla badge and was on display in Geneva.
The EYE concept comes from the design studio of the Istituto Europeo di Design of Turin (IED). What is clear from the images is that it would present a real aerodynamic challenge, especially if this vehicle was fitted with and electric powertrain. Judging by the front openings and the overall appearance of the vehicle, it appears unlikely that it will ever make it into production.
IED worked together with Tesla chief designer Franz von Holzhausen and the completed project looks more like a fun experiment than a production intent vehicle from Holzhausen.
The EYE is a real looker for those with a love for edgy design and extremes. According to those in attendance at the show, the EYE catches your attention as the designers had intended. But production possibilities appear non-existent.
