Henrik Fisker is planning to return to the luxury electric fold with his new company’s EMotion sedan, and potential buyers now have a price tag.
The brand’s first vehicle, the Fisker EMotion sedan, will become available for pre-order on June 30.
And when the EMotion eventually goes on sale, it will cost $129,900 and up.

That $129,900 is at the very high end of Tesla Model S pricing, but Fisker promises cutting-edge technology to justify such a price.
Range is said to be up to 400 miles on a single charge, thanks to graphene battery technology and a body structure made of carbon fiber and aluminum.
The battery technology, not so far used in any production vehicle, has been in development for many years by researchers at the University of California.

Fisker will also take a shot at Tesla’s Supercharging technology with its own UltraCharger technology, for which it says patents are pending.
The company says the fast-charging system will be able to add 100 miles of driving range in just 9 minutes.
With an eye towards the future, Fisker has also said the EMotion will house the necessary sensor technology for completely autonomous driving in future.

The front end of the EMotion features a built-in Lidar system and the side mirrors contain two cameras to give the car data for self-driving capabilities.
The software to handle the car’s self-driving capabilities is being handled by an unnamed company; Fisker has said it will reveal that partner at a later date.
Production of the car is expected to begin in 2019 at an unnamed facility.

It’s been suggested that the car could be built at VLF’s assembly plant in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Henrik Fisker is one of three partners in VLF along with former auto executives Bob Lutz and Gilbert Villarreal.
His previous company, called Fisker Automotive, declared bankruptcy in 2013.

The remaining assets were later sold to Chinese company Wanxiang and the company was later renamed Karma. Karma Automotive has just launched a reborn Fisker Karma under the Karma Revero nameplate.
As InsideEVs points out, the price of Fisker’s latest—$129,900—is exactly $100 below the price of his previous effort: the 2017 Karma Revero has a starting price of $130,000 even.
Should Fisker prove more successful this time around, his company plans to introduce additional vehicles.

One will likely be a more entry-level model to compete with the Tesla Model 3 and other long-range premium electric vehicles.
Look for the EMotion to debut on August 17, possibly during Monterey Car Week.
