With the 2017 model year well underway, many green cars are hitting showrooms with a new year designation and perhaps some updates.
But while these models may be brand new, it doesn’t mean carmakers are unwilling to offer major discounts in order to entice customers.
This month’s list of green-car deals includes several models that were launched recently, as well as some that have been on sale for awhile.

2016 Toyota Prius Two EcoHybrids
While it is a new model, sales of the 2016 Toyota Prius have been fairly flat, so Toyota is offering significant incentives.
This month, it’s possible to lease a Prius at $219 a month for 36 months, with $1,999 due at signing and an allowance of 12,000 miles per year.

For those who would rather buy than lease, Toyota is also offering $1,500 cash back, and 0-percent APR for financing for 60 months, or 0.9-percent financing for 72 months.
If a mid-size sedan is more desirable than a hatchback, consider the 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid.
2016 Ford Fusion HybridAn updated 2017 Fusion Hybrid is due later this year, but in the meantime Ford is increasing incentives on the outgoing model.
Right now, Ford is offering a lease at $199 a month for 36 months, with $1,999 due at signing and an annual cap of 10,500 miles.

Note that this offer only applies to the Fusion Hybrid SE trim level with Tech Package.
It represents $3,300 in discounts, according to CarsDirect.
Buyers unsure about the offer have plenty of time to think it over, as it doesn’t expire until October 3.
2017 BMW 330e i PerformancePlug-in hybrids
It may have just gone on sale, but the 2017 BMW 330e iPerformance is already discounted.
Since the 330e was first announced at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show last September, BMW has added the “iPerformance” tag to tie its plug-in hybrids based on existing models to the “i” family of dedicated plug-in models.
This month, the monthly lease payment and amount due at signing for BMW’s latest plug-in hybrid were both cut by $80.
That brings lease payments to $319 per month for 36 months, and the amount due at signing to $4,244.
BMW places a cap of 10,000 miles per year on this lease offer, which is valid through August 1.
2017 Chevrolet VoltElectric cars
For July, the 2017 Chevrolet Volt gets a special lease deal in certain states with a lower down payment.
In all states, the Volt is available to lease at $299 a month for 39 months, with 15,000 miles a year.
But in some states Chevy reduced the down payment from $3,029 to $500.
Those states are: California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
2016 Nissan LeafA $500 “conquest bonus” for buyers coming from other brands is also available nationwide, effectively erasing the down payment in states where the special lease deal is available,
Certain 2017 Volt models are also eligible for a straight 20-percent discount off the MSRP, so it pays to shop around to try to find one of these cars.
The 2016 Nissan Leaf gets a noteworthy lease deal of its own, running through the end of the month.
Nissan is offering a lease at $199 per month for 36 months, with $1,999 due at signing and an allowance of 12,000 miles per year.
2016 GMC CanyonDiesel cars
The 2016 GMC Canyon diesel mid-size pickup truck remains a better deal than its higher-volume Chevrolet Colorado sibling.
Last month’s $1,500 “conquest bonus” for non GM-customers carries over, and GMC is adding a new $750 for all customers as well.
GMC is also offering 0-percent APR financing for 60 months on the Canyon diesel.
Both the Canyon and Colorado share the 2.8-liter Duramax 4-cylinder diesel engine, and the title of most fuel efficient new truck currently sold in the U.S.
That’s thanks to a best EPA fuel-economy ratings of 25 mpg combined (22 mpg city, 31 mpg highway).
2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4Fuel-efficient gasoline cars
The Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback has appeared on this list many times before, and now the new-for-2017 G4 sedan model is getting some incentives right out of the gate.
Mitsubishi is offering 0-percent financing for 48 months and a $750 cash bonus throuht August 1 on its smallest sedan.
The G4 is mechanically identical to the Mirage hatchback, and benefits from the same updates made to that model for 2017.
Those include more refined suspension, changes to interior trim, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
2016 Ford FiestaThe 2016 Ford Fiesta could also be a good deal, depending on the individual car being considered.
Ford is offering a $1,000 bonus on the oldest inventory through October 3.
That’s in addition to 0-percent financing for 72 months on all Fiesta models.
Finally, this may be the last opportunity to snatch up a discounted 2016 Scion iA.
2016 Scion iA – second drive reviewToyota has heavily incentivized the iA over the past few months, in anticipation of the termination of the Scion brand in August.
Through the end of the month, Scion continues to offer a $750 cash bonus on the iA, plus 0-percent financing for 60 months.
It’s also possible to lease an iA at $149 per month for 36 months, with $1,999 due at signing.
The iA will live on as the 2017 Toyota Yaris iA, but it probably won’t represent as good of a deal after the Toyota transition.
