The Department of Defense has awarded FuelCell Energy $1.5 million to develop their Electrochemical Hydrogen Separator (EHS) technology. This technology would allow the reformation of fossil and biofuels into pure hydrogen for use in fuel cells. This tech could be applied for use at filling stations, or even within fuel cell vehicles themselves, so that existing infrastructure could be used to support the adoption of fuel cell vehicles.
