All eyes might be focused on the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, but luxury automaker Infiniti has decided to turn attention to the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, where it plans to unveil a range-extended, electric sports car concept. 
We don’t know anything at this moment about the car’s performance or its specifications, but given parent company Nissan unveiled the ESFLOW, a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive all-electric sports car earlier this year, we think it’s likely the Infiniti concept will feature a similar drivetrain layout. 
The un-named Infiniti concept could also signal a move from Infiniti towards a more ecologically-minded luxury sports car to enable the brand to compete with other potential plug-in and green-themed sports cars from Audi, Volkswagen and Porsche. In order to compete, we’d expect Infiniti’s concept to be capable of a sub-5 second 0-60 dash,  and a top speed of well over 120 mph.

With what looks to be a long-sweeping rear window and classic sports car lines, the Infiniti concept looks to follow in the tire tracks of many great Nissan sports cars.  
Will it perform as well? We’ll have to wait a few more months to find out.
