After years of anticipation and multiple media events, the day is here: The first production 2011 Nissan Leaf will roll off the production lines this Friday at 11:30 am Japanese time.

We’ll shortly provide full details from our drive of the Nissan Leaf, but meanwhile, watch and enjoy as the first production electric car to be sold in quantity in the U.S. since the 1930s–yes, almost eight decades ago–emerges from the factory in Oppama, Japan.
