What are you doing this Sunday?
If you’re an electric-car advocate or fan, you probably already know that Sunday is the second annual National Plug-In Day.
And if you’re considering the purchase of a plug-in electric car–or just interested in learning more–you should definitely make a note to keep Sunday free on your calendar.
There are activities all over the United States, with more than 50 separate cities hosting special events.
The overall goal is to promote plug-ins and educate both potential buyers and the public at large about zero-emission electric vehicles–and how they work in everyday driving.
National Plug-In Day is a project of the advocacy group Plug-In America, which teamed up with many partners–among them the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association–to raise the visibility of electric cars as a viable transportation choice now operated by tens of thousands of people.
Plug-In Day events last year included plug-in car rallies, seminars, speeches, games, giveaways, and a lot more.
Participants will include owners of electric cars both modern–the Nissan Leaf, Chevy Volt, and Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid, among others–and from earlier eras.
You can find a full list of the cities taking part and the events being held in your local area if you search by ZIP code on the event site.
Make a list of questions, pack up the family, and head to your nearest event to see one part of what driving will be like in the future.
Mark your calendars!
