There’s something quite fun about winning a competition two years in a row, especially if you’re preoccupied with impending court cases. 
So when its sexy two seat all-electric Roadster sport romped home in first place at the Fifth Monte Carlo Alternative Energy Rally Tesla’s board of directors must have felt particularly euphoric.
Driven by former F1 driver Erik Comas, the $109,000 sports car beat a field of more than 100 competitors to claim victory in the final stage of the event which took place on Sunday.

The Fifth Monte Carlo Alternative Energy Rally traces the route of the iconic Monte Carlo Rally, currently celebrating its Centenary year. 
With twisting roads and a mountain stage taking in the 4,035 ft high Col du Corobin, the Monte Carlo Alternative Energy Rally tested a variety of alternative fueled vehicles including hybrid cars like the 2011 Honda CR-Z, and 2011 Toyota Prius, biofuelled cars like the 2011 Saab 9-3 E85, and electric cars like the 2011 Nissan Leaf, and 2011 Smart ForTwo Electric.
The event took place over four days and totaled more than 500 miles of driving, with the Arctic White Tesla Roadster clocking up a massive 280 miles on a single day. 
Congratulations to Tesla and its team for its second consecutive win in the event.
