On September 25, 2009, the Venturi Buckeye Bullet 2 team from Ohio State University, broke the landspeed record for a hydrogen vehicle in their hydrogen fuel cell powered Venturi Buckeye Bullet 2 vehicle. In two consecutive runs in opposite directions, they achieved an average speed of over 300 mph over the straight 1 mile course, as per their speed record certificate. Their ultimate goal is to reach 350 mph.
